Alaina Wood
CSL Administrative Assistant
Alaina Wood is the Administrative Assistant for Project Lift at The Center for Strategic Leadership and Organizational Coherence. Before joining the LIFT team, Wood’s professional background included administrative support, athletics, education, and human services. Wood’s love for student excellence and success was ignited during her time spent living overseas where she observed the transitions of professional athletes and the educational journeys they pursued. During her time working at Oakland University, she studied the connection and sense of belonging student-athletes had at their respective universities and the impact it had on their future. Wood has effectively created and implemented educational programs and projects, offered academic guidance, and facilitated brave spaces for students at multiple levels. One of the greatest professional accomplishments for Wood within the past year was her role in developing and coordinating a food pantry to address basic student needs and alleviate college food insecurity.
Wood is a proud graduate of The University of Michigan-Dearborn and Oakland University where she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and a Master of Education in Higher Educational Leadership. Wood also holds a Certificate from the HERS Leadership Institute and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
When she is not working, Wood is spending time with her family or supporting one of her favorite basketball teams. Her current teams to watch are Renaissance High School Girls’ Basketball and Michigan State Men’s Basketball.
